God’s Spirit…

22 God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.” ~ Galatians 5:22 (CEV)

How can you Not want to follow the way God wants us to live and treat one another?  How can anyone be comfortable with doing evil and all bad?  I try to wrap my head around this and I find it difficult to understand why anyone would want to cause harm to others.  Being a psychology student I switch my brain to the learning and realize it is more than likely not a choice.  Something went wrong with the brain and the thinking process is altered.  The loving and compassion part of the brain has been damaged.  Now when someone who has an altered brain, for whatever reason, reproduces, the damage continues.  It does not continue by hereditary values.  It continues because the love and compassion in the parent is gone or severely damaged.  Unless this new life receives all the above, this life too will be damaged and the bad continues.

This is why they say it takes a village to raise a child.  We are all responsible for each other.  We are to provide our love and compassion to those who need it the most as well as the ones who don’t need it at all.  To shun someone because of their illness or their looks or their smell is a sin.  I am a firm believer in doing towards others as I want others to treat me.  I have lived the life of being fat and the way I was and still are treated, is awful and it hurts. People assume people are fat from laziness. I assure you that is not the case. People who are not skinny and voluptuous are not bad people.  Their feelings, their needs and wants are the same as a slim person. Everyone needs love.  So when a child is born to a damaged family it is our responsibility to show that child love.  Yes, even if that child is unruly.  Sit the child down, talk to him or her and explain why what they are doing is wrong and hurtful. Show the child and even the adult why it is wrong.  Don’t be attacking and mean and cruel.  The child did not ask to be here and did not ask for the life they are living.  We can help the future by showing all of what God wants us to be and do.

I would love to read your input on this. Feel free to discuss. Please keep vulgarity out of your language.  Children come here too.  I appreciate your cooperation.

God Bless You and Yours, Rev Lizz
